So What’s My Story?
We all have a story, don’t we? I am a firm believer that the experiences of our lives, whether joyful or painful, lead us to a spot where we are better able to serve and encourage those around us. I love my husband, God, my three kiddos, and making the most of each day I live. I am crazy about hand-lettering and am finally pursuing it as a way to relax and express myself artistically. I am a reluctant runner who finished the NYC Marathon in 2014 (checked that off my bucket list!) because I could (and I LOVE new running shoes and the feeling after a long run)! I homeschool our three children and love the freedom and experiences it allows our family.
I became a motherless daughter at the age of 22 when my Mom died of cervical cancer and just recently passed the 20 year anniversary in 2014. Having lost my only sibling and brother, Ben, to leukemia in 1982 I grew up without set chores or responsibilities other than the self-imposed burden of making my parents laugh and staying out of trouble. Because my Mom wanted me to just “be a kid” I do feel that early carefree life has led me to decades of struggle in keeping my own home. I have numerous books on cleaning, chores, Pinterest boards, and other “finally control the clutter” resources available at my fingertips. There is progress but it is a journey!
I am passionate about living each day to the fullest due to losses of close loved ones I experienced. This culminated in an amazing “Ah-ha moment” in 2010 when I faced the fact shortly after the birth of my third child that my Mom was only 11 years older than I was at the time of her death at 49…BOOM! That was a reality check. With that fear and tired of being sick and tired feeling, I embarked on a health journey that allowed me to lose 60 pounds over the next 9 months and led me on a new path as a Certified Health Coach. As that business grew and I spoke about healthy body, healthy mind and healthy finances to my clients and fellow coaches on my team, I was faced with the fact that the healthy mind part of being a wife and mom was super critical to the health in the other two identified areas of my life. I know I am not alone as I have numerous friends, family members and professional associates who face this same situation. It is out of this desire to THRIVE in all areas of my life that I have decided to further launch this site to assist and support others who desire the same. I offer grace to you and I seek grace in return for I know that perfection is unattainable and this truly is a journey that begins and ends each day with the choices we make. I hope you join me and I look forward to the sisterhood that will follow!
